The major difference between the 2 versions is if you are using Virtual desktop, you can now change the defaults name to more meaningful names. And some refinements with the Settings page. As for upgrading to the latest version, personally, I'm still withholding the upgrade even most of the known issues found on this version has already been resolved.

If your device is not using Conexant or Synaptics audio drivers it would be pretty much okay to upgrade to this version already. Kind regards.

Before you start to update it's good idea to take backup of your files if you don't have up to date backup. If the update is not offered via windows update then it may be worth waiting a few months to let the new version mature. According to what I read Trim should be automatically set by Windows 10, however, I will take your advice and see if it is set in windows before I retry to upgrade windows again,.

You should run TRIM manually just before update, in order to be sure it will not be cause for your problem. I checked on the trim and updated it through to optimiser, the optimiser allowed me to trim my SSD as well, and I must say that how much it has improved the performance of windows, as it now back to the fast performance it was when the SSD was new.

As I have got nowhere with the update, I have been focusing on why this happening. In the past, I had something similar happen to the updates as it wouldn't allow me to do any updates when I clicked on the update button, I posted this problem on another site, and all the answers I got was the same thing "I have a Virus" on the machine, so I ran a virus program and indeed I had a virus, this cured the problem, I have been doing some research regarding viruses, I came across a site suggesting that Malware programs could be the blame, and there were a few suggestions that IBM Trusteer Rapport was causing the problem, I have nothing to lose so I uninstalled it then tried the update again, it didn't work.

I have another Malware program installed but I am reluctant to uninstall that as it a paid-for app. Tried to download the update again today, this time the download behaved differently, but it seems to do the right thing, then it automatically started to do the updates, halfway through the updates a window popped up and stated that we are unable to do the update because a setting issue with your computer, but as soon we get it fixed the update will become available in the usual channels.

Right now, Microsoft hasn't said anything about the official date of release for the May Update. Pauli O. In reply to Y. Rezaie's post on May 16, If you keep following this forum you can't miss that release. Microsoft will also make announcement of release in it's Windows 10 blog.

You can check Windows Updates from time to time. You folks at Microsoft need to keep this stuff up to date. I also downloaded a file to do it.
